300 years of Bach in Leipzig: Some of the most famous classical music stars met in Leipzig in June 2023 to celebrate the anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach's appointment as cantor at the city's famous Thomaskirche with a special concert. The pianist Lang Lang, the violinist Daniel Hope and the oboist Albrecht Mayer as well as the Thomanerchor and the Gewandhausorchester performed on an open-air stage on the Leipzig market square under the direction of the current Thomaskantor Andreas Reize.
